Fried Wamena Shrimp ~ Udang Wamena Goreng Tepung September 29, 2010

In Wamena, there is a type of freshwater shrimp..It lookes kindda like a small lobster, because it has a hard shell and a big head. But the size is still very small, like shrimps.. 🙂 I only knew of this type of  shrimp when a friend of Dad’s brought from Wamena, his workplace.

Di Wamena, ada sejenis udang yang hanya hidup di air tawar..Bentuknya mirip sama lobster, karena cangkang yang sangat keras dan kepala yang sangat besar. Tapi, ukurannya kecil banget, hampir sebesar udang biasa.. 🙂 Aku baru tau ada udang ini waktu dibawakan oleh temen Papa yang kebetulan bertugas disana.

When I first tried to fry it.. my Aunty and I, make a HUGE mistake! We fried it without taking out the head.. so it took ageeeeeees to cook, plus we wasted so much cooking oil! !

Pas ngegorengnya pertama kali.. aku sama Tanteku, salah banget! Kita ngegorengnya tanpa cabut kepala.. alhasil, lama banget ga mateng2, plus boros minyak!!

Fried Wamena Shrimp tastes so good! The texture is just like ‘regular’ shrimp, (although I can’t compare it with Lobster, since I’ve never had it, hihi!!) it has a thick amount of meat, savory yet sweet at the same time!! Totally delish..

Rasanya enaaak banget! Kayak udang (aku ga bisa ngebandingin sama Lobster, belum pernah makan, soalnya! hihihi). Dagingnya tebeeel, manis dan gurih di saat bersamaan! Enaaak..

You can also use this recipe with ‘normal’ shrimp.. very simple yet soo delish 🙂

Resep ini juga berlaku untuk udang biasa lho.. sangat simple tapi hasilnya enak banget 🙂
